Biographical Information[edit]

Jong-suk Kim pitched in the Korea Baseball Organization for 6 years. His son Dae-yu Kim also played in the KBO.

Kim played for South Korea in the 1985 Intercontinental Cup. The Lotte Giants selected him in the first round of the 1987 KBO draft, and he went 1-4 with a 4.22 ERA in his first season. Kim was 0-5 with a 4.75 ERA in 1988, and he stayed in the minors for the entire 1989 season. He struggled again in 1990 as his ERA was 5.09 in 15 games, then he went 2-6 with a 3.76 ERA in 1991. Kim pitched 25 games with a 5.17 ERA in 1992, then he surrendered 7 runs in 8 1/3 innings in 1993. He announced his retirement after the 1993 season.

Overall, Kim was 6-23 with a 4.65 ERA, struck out 108 and pitched 265 innings in 6 seasons in the KBO.
