Biographical Information[edit]
Jon Wente is a college coach and the husband of Sandra Wente; both have coached for Team USA.
Jon Wente was 5-4 with a 5.16 ERA for the 1997 Moose Jaw Diamond Dogs.
Went was an assistant at Central Arizona College from 1998-2002. He coached the Liberal BJs to the 2000 National Baseball Congress title in summer ball. He was head coach at Hutchinson Community College in 2003-2004, Odessa College in 2005 and Central Arizona College in 2006-2014. He was then an assistant coach at University of Texas at Arlington in 2015-2020 before moving to Grand Canyon University in 2021. After 2 seasons at GCU, Wente moved to California State University, Sacramento as pitching coach for 2023.
Wente also coached for the USA in the 2006 World Junior Championship.
