Biographical Information

Jon Mikrut played college ball at Northwestern University, where he was both a shortstop and a pitcher. Undrafted following graduation, he signed with the St. Louis Cardinals in 2005 and made his pro debut with the Johnson City Cardinals that summer, primarily seeing time as a third baseman. The next year, he was exclusively used as a pitcher for the Swing of the Quad Cities and made the Midwest League All-Star team. Overall, he played four years in the Cardinals organization.

Mikrut returned to Northwestern, his alma mater, in 2010 as an assistant coach.
