Biographical Information

Jon Kennedy has pitched in the minors.

He was in the MLB Australian Academy Program in 2011-12. With the Melbourne Aces in 2012-2013, he was 0-2 with a 8.68 ERA and 2.04 WHIP in 4 games (two starts). He allowed two runs in 1 1/3 IP in 2013-2014 and had a 0-1 record with four runs in two innings in 2014-2015. Atlanta Braves scout Phil Dale signed him in 2015. He weas 1-4 with a 3.94 ERA as a regular member of the Melbourne rotation in the 2015-2016 ABL.

In his US debut, he split time between the Danville Braves (11 H, 5 R, 3 ER, 7 K in 5 2/3 IP), Rome Braves (2.74 ERA in 14 G, 3 BB in 23 IP) and Carolina Mudcats (0 R in 2 IP). For the year, he had 29 K to 4 BB.

Kennedy then made the Australian national team for the first time, in the 2017 World Baseball Classic.
