Biographical Information[edit]
Jon Goebel started his coaching career as a volunteer assistant coach in 2009 at Parkland College. He remained in this role through the 2010 season. Goebel then moved to the high school ranks as the pitching coach for the Centennial High School Chargers from 2011-2014. Goebel returned to Parkland in the fall of 2014 as their pitching coach. In July 2018 Goebel was promoted to head coach (initially on an interim basis) where he remained until the end of 2021. Through all his years at Parkland, the Cobras remained a powerhouse in Division II community college baseball.
The Texas Rangers hired Goebel in 2022 to fill their Hickory Crawdads pitching coach position. On July 9th Goebel saw four of his pitchers combine for a 10 inning no-hitter. He was pitching coach of the Frisco RoughRiders in 2023-2024.
