Biographical Information[edit]

Johnny Tobin is a member of the Fordham University Athletic Hall of Fame, thanks to his collegiate exploits on the baseball diamond and the football gridiron. He graduated in 1932, then played fewer than 10 games with Winston-Salem of the Piedmont League later that year. Then, in September, he joined the New York Giants and was used once as a pinch hitter. He went to spring training with the Giants in 1933, but failed to make the team and was optioned to Knoxville of the Southern Association. However, he did not play for Knoxville, and in fact never played again in organized baseball.

He is not to be confused with Johnny "Jackie" Tobin.
