Biographical Information

Johnny Stevens began his umpiring career in the Eastern League from 1944 to 1946. After working the American Association in 1947, he was an American League umpire from 1948 to 1975. Starting in 1969, he worked only part-time, and only worked a handful of games in 1973 and 1975. In total, he umpired 3,346 regular season games. He worked the 1970 ALCS and four World Series, 1951, 1954, 1960 and 1967. He also worked 6 All-Star Games.
