Biographical Information[edit]
Catcher Johnny O'Connor had one of the most minimal cups of coffee, having no chances in the field and not getting a chance at the plate. He appeared for the 1916 Cubs, who used eight catchers that year.
O'Connor, born in Ireland, had been at the University of Illinois in 1911-12. Through 2007, he is the second-to-the-last Irish-born player to come to the majors - although dozens came up in the 19th Century, few came up in the 20th Century.
