John Thomas (minors)

John Thomas was one of the top Deadball Era sluggers in the Western League. He led the league in 1907 (9 homers for the Lincoln Tree Planters), tied for the lead in 1908 (7 with the Lincoln Greenbackers), was tied for 4th in 1909 (11 for the Greenbackers, two behind the league leader), led in 1910 with 22 homers for the Lincoln Railsplitters and led for the fourth time in 1911 when he hit 12 home runs for the Railsplitters.

From 1902-1905, Thomas had been with the various Omaha, NE-based WL teams before going to Lincoln in 1906.
