John Stanton
John Stanton, born circa 1956, is a Seattle, WA based businessman who made his fortune as a pioneer in the wireless industry. He was the CEO of McCaw Cellular and Clearwire corporations and the founder of Western Wireless Corp. and is a member of the board of major companies such as Microsoft and Costco.
Stanton became a minority owner of the Seattle Mariners when they were owned by Nintendo of America. When team CEO Howard Lincoln announced his upcoming retirement on April 27, 2016, Stanton was introduced as the new Chief Executive Officer who would oversee the sale of Nintendo's shares to the 17 minority owners currently on board; he was himself one of those owners. The owners' shares form a company known as First Avenue Entertainment LLLP.
