Biographical Information

Catcher John Hester was signed by the Arizona Diamondbacks and scout Fred Castello as the 13th round pick in the 2006 amateur draft.

Hester hit a two-run pinch hit home run off the Astros' Wilton Lopez in his major league debut for the Diamondbacks on August 28, 2009. The D-Backs won the game, 14-7. Ironically, Lopez was also making his major league debut that day.
