Biographical information[edit]
John Erickson was a second baseman who is most notable for winning the 1960 College World Series Most Outstanding Player award while a sophomore at University of Minnesota. He is one of three players from University of Minnesota to win that award. The others are Jerry Thomas and Dave Winfield. He played in the low minors from 1960-1962, hitting .275 in 177 games.
