John Claiborne
John Claiborne was head coach of Washington University in Saint Louis from 1964-1967. He worked in the St. Louis Cardinals minor league and scouting department in 1970-1972. He moved to the Oakland A's as director of player development from 1972 to 1974 and farm director in 1975. Claiborne was the assistant GM of the Boston Red Sox in 1976-1977. He returned to St. Louis serving as General Manager of the Cardinals from 1979 to August 1980.
