Biographical Information[edit]
In his major league debut on June 11, 1977, Joey McLaughlin loaded the bases with the first three batters he faced for the Atlanta Braves against the Philadelphia Phillies, then surrendered a grand slam to Greg Luzinski. Mike Mayers repeated this ignominious feat in his debut in 2016.
McLaughlin's sons, Joey McLaughlin Jr. and Jeff Maclauhglin pitched at Oklahoma City University and in the minors.
