Biographical Information[edit]
Joel Southern has coached college baseball for several years.
Southern hit .308 while at Augustana College and also played football. He later earned degrees in inorganic chemistry and physical education. He was assistant coach at the University of Chicago in 1997-1998. In 2002, he was assistant at Elmhurst College. He then was assistant at Western New England College from 2003-2006. He also managed the Holyoke Giants in 2005-2006. In 2007, Southern became head coach at Elmhurst as well as women's bowling coach and professor of chemistry. He was 248-340. Southern stayed at Elmhurst through 2023. He then became head coach at St. Ignatius College Prep in 2024.
