Biographical Information[edit]

Joel Polanco played in the minors from 2006-2011.

Polanco was signed by Baltimore Orioles scout Carlos Bernhardt in February 2006. He hit .195/.327/.280 for the 2006 DSL Orioles and .194/.384/.214 for the same club in 2007, with 26 walks in 44 games. In 2008, he hit .296/.386/.378 for the DSL O's. Coming stateside in 2009, he produced at a .268/.330/.423 clip for the Bluefield Orioles, as a third-string catcher and occasional DH. He slumped to .194/.217/.313 in 23 games for the 2010 Aberdeen Ironbirds then was 1 for 2 for the 2011 Bowie Baysox to end his playing career. Polanco fielded .980 in 84 games as a minor league catcher and .967 in 30 games at 1B.
