Biographical Information[edit]

Joe Zanghi was both a pitcher and catcher in college. In 2014, he attended Southern New Hampshire University and hit .050 while posting a 10.80 ERA. He transferred to Cumberland County Community College prior to the 2015 season. For the Dukes, he posted a much better ERA of 1.70 while transitioning into pitching exclusively; he also hit .171. He was drafted by the Cincinnati Reds in the 24th round of the 2015 Amateur Draft but did not sign. He was signed as an amateur free agent by the New York Mets and scout JP Ricciardi on March 1, 2016. He reached Triple A for the first time in 2018.
