Biographical Information[edit]
On July 3, 1939, Joe "Mule" Sprinz attempted to catch a ball dropped 800 feet from a blimp at the World's Fair. The ball hit his upraised mitt and drove it into his face, fracturing his upper jaw, ripping his lips, and knocking out five teeth.
