Biographical Information[edit]
During his playing days, Joe Shaute was noted for his ability to strike out Babe Ruth, fanning the Bambino more than 30 times in his career.
After his playing days, Shaute managed the Scranton Miners for the 1935 season, then served as treasurer and sheriff of Lackawanna County, PA.
The ballpark of Mansfield U is named Shaute Field in his honor.
