Joe Sarno played in the minors and coached at college.

Sarno hit .393 with 26 steals as a college senior in 1995. He led the North Atlantic Conference in swipes and was 6th in average, winning All-Conference honors at shortstop. He set the UNH record for stolen bases in a season and in a career. He hit .277 and slugged .333 for the 1995 Nashua Hawks, his only season playing professionally.

Sarno was an assistant coach at Amherst College and Springfield College (2001-2002). From 2004-2010, he was head coach of Merrimack College.
