Biographical Information[edit]

Joe Ohl pitched for the Washington Senators in 1909. A Joe Ohl worked for Connie Mack and figures in a number of stories involving Mack.

The Youngstown Vindicator reported in its March 8, 1911 edition that Ohl was originally a pitcher, but moved to first base due to difficulty throwing strikes. The article implied that Ohl was an untalented ballplayer who received multiple opportunities to play professional baseball because his father was an executive with the Philadelphia Phillies.
