Biographical Information[edit]

Joe McCarthy played for the Yakima Braves in 1966 and hit .173/~.244/.253 in 32 games. His most-played position was third base, where he fielded only .839. The next season, he was with the West Palm Beach Braves, going 0 for 2.

An SP4 in the National Guard, Serial No. 28299773, he served in the Vietnam War and died at age 22 from multiple fragmentation wounds received in combat. His name was obtained from the Vietnam Wall in Washington, DC.
