Biographical Information[edit]
Pitcher Joe Borowy was taken by the Houston Astros in the 24th round of the 1965 amateur draft, but did not sign a contract. He did sign after being taken by the Minnesota Twins in the 4th round of the secondary phase of the January 1966 amateur draft.
He spent three years in the minor leagues, playing in 1966, 1969 and 1970, going 9-19 with a 4.94 ERA in 47 games (28 starts). On July 9, 1966, pitching for the Orlando Twins, he tossed a seven-inning no-hitter against the Winter Haven Sun Sox, winning 2-0. He served in the Army during Vietnam.
