Biographical Information[edit]
Joan Kroc was the wife of McDonald's restaurant founder and San Diego Padres owner Ray Kroc. After his death in 1984, she succeeded him as owner and saw the Padres reach the World Series for the first time that year. She sold the club in 1990 to a group headed by Tom Werner for $75 million.
