Biographical Information

Jin-young Kim is the father of Kyung-ki Kim and uncle of Kyoung-youb Youm.

Kim served in the South Korean Army from 1956 to 1959. He was the shortstop for the South Korean national team in the 1959 Asian Championship (Silver), and he managed them in 1969 Asian Championship. He coached for them in the 1976 Amateur World Series. He coached Chung-Ang University from 1970 to 1980, then he moved to Inha University from 1981 to 1982. Kim was named the manager of the Sammi Superstars from 1983 to 1985, and he was the manager of the Lotte Giants in 1990.
