Pitcher Jin-young Kim was timed at 92 mph when an amateur. He signed with the Chicago Cubs in early 2010 for a $1.2 million bonus. He made his pro debut with the 2011 Boise Hawks on June 19 against the Eugene Emeralds. He started but lasted only four innings, with four hits, three runs, three walks and no strikeouts in taking the loss.
