Biographical Information[edit]
Jin-hyung Park has pitched in the Korea Baseball Organization and for the South Korean national team.
Park was selected by the Lotte Giants in the 2nd round of the 2013 KBO draft, and he mainly stayed in the minors for his first three seasons. He was a swingman in 2016, and he went 6-2 with a 5.81 ERA in 39 appearances. Park was 4-4 with a 5.11 ERA and 10 holds in 2017, and he represented Korea in the 2017 Asia Professional Baseball Championship. He pitched 1 2/3 shutout innings against Japan, and he recorded 2/3 of a shutout inning against Chinese Taipei. Japan beat Korea in the Gold Medal Game with a 7-0 score.
The Sokcho native only pitched 13 games due to shoulder injury in 2018, then he collected 5 holds with a 4.02 ERA in 41 relief outings in 2019. He had a career-high 17 holds in 2020, but his ERA rose to 5.70 in 53 games. Park struggled again in 2021 as his ERA was 7.88 in 22 games, then he missed the next two seasons due to military service. He was placed in the minors for most of the 2024 season, and he only pitched 7 games with the big club.
