Jim Uremovich
James P. Uremovich
- Born May 10, 1957 in Honolulu, HI USA
Biographical Information[edit]
Jim Uremovich began his professional umpiring career in the Gulf Coast League in 1981. He moved to the Florida State League in 1982, the Texas League in 1983 and the Pacific Coast League in 1985.
He was no longer working in the minor leagues at the start of the 1991 season when he worked one game as a replacement umpire in the American League. The regular umpires had gone on strike during spring training, and the conflict was only resolved on the eve of the regular season, making it necessary to have some replacement umpires fill in on Opening Day. The umpires went on strike again at the start of the 1995 season, and Jim worked another 6 games while the conflict lasted.
