Biographical Information[edit]

Jim Pisoni was signed by the St. Louis Browns in 1949 and came up in September 1953, becoming the last rookie to debut with the Browns before they moved to Baltimore. He played five seasons in the major leagues with four teams.

He served in the army before coming to the majors.

He had most of his major league at-bats with the Kansas City Athletics in 1956 and 1957. In 1957, he played more games in center field than anyone on the team except for Woodie Held, who he was traded for (with other players involved).

Pisoni played 12 years in the minors, hitting 187 home runs. His high was 26 with the San Antonio Missions in 1955.

After his baseball career ended, he was an electrical contractor. He died in 2007 at age 77.
