Biographical Information[edit]
Jim Gilman was long mixed up with Pit Gilman. Both were from Ohio, both played for a Cleveland, OH team, and both appeared in two major league games, albeit years apart.
Per SABR, Jim began pro baseball in 1893. When the Ohio-Michigan League disbanded, he became available and was picked up by the 1893 Cleveland Spiders. Although newspapers reviewed his performance positively, he didn't play again in the majors. His minor league career went on for several years [1].
