Biographical Information[edit]
Pitkin "Pit" Gilman played two games for the Cleveland Blues at the age of 20 in 1884. During 1883-1885, when he wasn't in the majors, he was with the Youngstown, OH team. His minor league career went through 1889.
Pit Gilman had previously been confused with Jim Gilman, a player who was also born in Ohio, appeared for a major league team in Cleveland, OH, and played in two major league games.
After baseball, he was a salesman for a candy company. Pit lived a long life, dying at age 86 of heart disease.
