Jim Elder held numerous roles in baseball. He was a minor league umpire and an announcer for the Little Rock Travelers (1965-1969, 1971-1993). He was most likely the last Texas League announcer to do ticker tape game re-creations. In 2014, he was inducted into the Texas League Hall of Fame.
