Biographical Information[edit]
Jim Brown played in fewer than 30 major league games but managed to appear in three leagues in that span. A two-way player, he was not much of a pitcher but hit above average. He was thought to be even more well-traveled because the record of Ed Brown, the most-used pitcher during the short life of the St. Paul Apostles in 1884, had been wrongly appended to his name.
