Jhonny Bautista has pitched for the Salvadoran national team.
Bautista allowed four hits and three runs (two earned) in 2 1/3 IP in the 2017 Bolivarian Games, losing to Panama and Gabriel Ramos. [1] He was much sharper when El Salvador won Bronze in the 2017 Central American Games the next month. His first outing, he saved Marcelo Parker's win over Costa Rica, working the final four innings and allowing two hits and no walks while whiffing four. He went 1-2-3 to close out William Ponce's 5-1 win over Guatemala. He led El Salvador in ERA, 1.13 ahead of Ponce and tied for second in the event (even with former major leaguer Davis Romero and Jorge Zavala, one inning behind Gustavo Martínez. [2]
