Biographical Information[edit]

Jhon Acosta pitched in the minors leagues and the CPBL.

Acosta began his professional career with the Chicago Cubs, and he had a save and a 2.53 ERA in 14 games for the AZL Cubs in 1997. He had a 2.20 ERA while going 2-0 in 11 games there in 1998, and he pitched 9 shutout innings in 1999. Acosta also pitched 13 games for the Eugene Emeralds in '99, but his ERA was 6.62. He then had a 5.40 ERA in 5 games for the Lansing Lugnuts in 2000, and the Cubs released him. The First Financial Holdings Agan signed him in 2003, and Acosta had a 8.31 ERA in 13 games for them. That was his last season as a professional player.
