Biographical Information

Chih-Lung Yang pitched in the CPBL and for the Chinese Taipei national baseball team.

Yang represented Taiwan in the 2013 World Port Tournament, 2013 East Asian Games, 2014 U-21 Baseball World Cup, 2014 Haarlemse Honkbalweek and 2016 Haarlemse Honkbalweek. He was 1-0 with a 2.16 ERA in 8 1/3 innings in the World Port Tournament. In the U-21 Baseball World Cup, Yang pitched seven shutout innings against New Zealand and got a win. The CTBC Brothers drafted Yang in the third round of the 2016 CPBL Draft.

In his rookie year (2017), Yang spent most of his time in the minors. He only pitched 11 2/3 innings in the CPBL, and allowed 15 runs. He joined the rotation in the 2018 season, starting 14 games with a 4.50 ERA. Considering the juiced ball in the league, that was an excellent performance for a local starter. He was also selected to the 2018 CPBL All-Star Game , and he pitched a shutout inning. Yang struggled in the next year, as he got a 5.93 ERA in 10 starts. He was named the starter of the 2019 Taiwan Series Game 4, but he allowed 7 runs in 4 2/3 innings and Yu-Hsun Chen got the win over him. The Brothers were beaten by the Lamigo Monkeys in 5 games.

Yang then suffered from a shoulder injury and missed the entire 2020 season and most of the 2021 season. He came back in 2022, had a 4.14 ERA in 40 relief outings, and notched a career-high 12 holds. Yang injured his shoulder again in 2023, so he only pitched one game.

Yang's repertoire included a fastball (peak 92.5 mph), curveball and forkball.
