Biographical Information

Jesus Atencio played in the lower levels of the Kansas City Royals minor league system from 2013-2019. He spent his first three seasons in the Dominican Summer League and his last four seasons in the States. Atencio never rose above rookie ball. He was primarily a catcher, though he also logged some games at first base.

Atencio stayed with the Royals organization as a catchers coach after his playing career ended according to his LinkedIn page.[1] This lasted at least through 2023 and he worked with the Royals teams in the Dominican Summer League. In the coaches register, he is listed with the DSL Royals 1.
