Biographical Information[edit]
Outfielder Jess Duran played in the minor leagues from 1951 to 1952 and from 1955 to 1958. His best campaign (in terms of rare stats, not taking level of play into account) was 1955 with the Pocatello Bannocks, when he slashed .346/.492/.611 with 21 home runs, 108 RBI and 13 stolen bases. That induced the Mexico City Tigres to take him in the 1955 Rule V Draft; he hit .311 in his first year with Mexico City.
He served with the U.S. Army during the Korean War.
