Biographical Information[edit]

Like a large number of persons born in Quebec in the 1980s and 1990s, Jason Therrien has a hyphenated official last name, "Dygestile-Therrien", although he mainly uses the second of these in his baseball career. The rare name "Dygestile" is of Haitian origin.

Jesen pitched 15 games for the Philadelphia Phillies in 2017, and then underwent Tommy John surgery. He was able to sign a minor league contract anyway in 2017 with the Los Angeles Dodgers, but due to complications with his arm, he was unable to pitch for a longer period than expected. The Dodgers released him in November, 2019. As of January 2020, he was hoping to find a club that would sign him. Source: Une renaissance attendue pour Jesen Therrien.

Therrien was in the minors during 2012-2017, and came to the majors for 15 games in 2017. In his first major league outing, on July 29th, he pitched an inning without giving up a run. Later, he had a streak of five games without giving up a run. But he gave up runs in each of his last four outings.

In the minors, Jesen had good seasons in each of 2015-2017 before coming up to the big leagues.
