Biographical Information[edit]

Infielder Jerry Schypinski played 22 games for the Kansas City Athletics in 1955.

He was born in Detroit, MI and attended Catholic Central High School (Detroit). He was at the University of Detroit Mercy between the years 1950-1955.

He began in the minors in 1952, hitting .294 split between two teams. An article about the 1952 Cordele A's team quotes him and remembers that the team hit only one home run all season. The article has a photo of the team.

In 1955 he spent most of the season with the Savannah A's, hitting .287. He came up to the majors on August 31st, to play for manager Lou Boudreau.

In 1956 he played for the Columbia Gems and Columbus Jets.

In articles his first name is sometimes spelled Gerry.
