Biographical Information[edit]
Starting pitcher Jerry McClain played in the Montreal Expos system from 1969 to 1971. He was 6-5 with a 2.70 ERA in 13 starts for the West Palm Beach Expos the first year, 5-1, 2.93 in 9 games (7 starts) for the same club in 1970 and 6-9, 3.20 in 19 games (18 starts) for the Quebec Carnavals in 1971. Overall, he was 17-15 with 12 complete games, 5 shutouts and a 2.98 ERA in 41 games (38 starts).
He later became head coach at Santa Clara University from 1981 to 1984. He headed the North Pole Nicks of the Alaska Baseball League in 1980 and 1981. His son, Patrick McClain, played for the Roswell Invaders in 2011.
