Biographical Information[edit]
Jerry Greeley graduated from East Stroudsburg University in 1989 with a degree in special education. While a student he played first base and the outfield for the Warriors and was a team captain his last two years. He has been a teacher at Pocono Mountain School District for many years.
In addition to his teaching responsibilities, Greeley has coached baseball since 1990 at various levels. He was an assistant coach at King's College (PA) from 1990 to 1994. From 1995 to 2002, he was the head coach at Penn State Wilkes-Barre where he led the Mountain Lions to four conference championships while compiling a 224-125 record. Greeley then returned to King's as head coach in 2003 and has a 367-386-4 record through the 2024 season. As head coach, Greeley has led the Monarchs to 12 Freedom Conference playoff berths and set a single-season program record with 28 victories in 2007.
Greeley has also spent many years as a minor league coach, mostly in the Baltimore Orioles organization. He coached the Bluefield Orioles in 1997-1998 and the GCL Orioles in 1999-2001. Greeley moved to the Cincinnati Reds organization as a coach for the Billings Mustangs in 2002 and the GCL Reds in 20003. After a year away from professional baseball, Greeley returned to Bluefield for the 2005-2010 seasons. The Orioles left Bluefield after 2010 and Greeley spent the next decade coaching the GCL Orioles teams.
Starting in 2022 Greeley has coached summer collegiate teams. He was the hitting coach for the Trenton Thunder in 2022 and the Bluefield Ridge Runners in 2023. Greeley served as a fourth coach with Bluefield in 2024.
