Jerrid Oates has coached at the college level.
Oates was graduate assistant at Fort Hays State University in 2002-2003. He then moved to the Colorado School of Mines as an assistant from 2004-2007. He was promoted to head coach in 2008. He was named co-Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference Coach of the Year his first season, after winning 20 games. After the 2011 season, Oates resigned to move to conference rival Metropolitan State College for 2012. In 2018 Oates moved into facilities operations for Metro State.
