Biographical Information[edit]

Jerome Coleman played in the Montreal Expos minor league system from 1981 to 1984. He was taken by the club in the 26th round of the 1981 amateur draft.

His batting average, on-base percentage, slugging percentage and OPS declined each season. In 1981, he hit .306/.444/.407 with 23 stolen bases in 58 games for the Calgary Expos, walking 50 times to only 22 walks. In 1982, he hit .276/.357/.303 with 23 stolen bases and 35 walks (to 31 Ks) in 99 games for the West Palm Beach Expos. With the Gastonia Expos in 1983, Coleman hit .258/.349/.277 with 27 stolen bases and 52 walks (to 25 strikeouts) in 115 games. He played for Gastonia again in 1984 and hit .212/.295/.240 with 11 stolen bases and 24 walks (to 13 Ks) in 87 games.

Overall, he hit .263/.361/.302 with 84 stolen bases, 161 walks and only 91 strikeouts in 359 games.
