Biographical Information[edit]

Jeremiah Bayer began his pro career in 2009.

After two seasons at Division I University of Vermont (2-8, 4.98 in 2006 and 0-2, 9.88 in 2007), Bayer transferred to D-III Trinity (Conn.) College for his junior and senior seasons. He was named NCAA Division III Pitcher of the Year in 2009 by the National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association, after going 12-1 with a save, a 0.85 ERA and 94 strikeouts in 95 1/3 innings. He led Division III pitchers in ERA. The Boston Red Sox took him in the 30th round of the 2009 amateur draft. He made his pro debut with the Lowell Spinners, saving two games and posting a 4.15 ERA in 14 games while whiffing 27 in 26 innings. For 2010, Bayer was a reliever for the Greenville Drive.
