Biographical Information[edit]

Jeong-hoon Cho debuted in the Korea Baseball Organization in 2005 with the Lotte Giants. The 20-year-old was 1-0 with a 6.83 ERA in 19 games, allowing 41 hits and 22 walks in 29 innings. He gave up two runs in six innings in 2006. In 17 games for the 2007 Giants, he was 0-2 with a 6.65 ERA and 35 hits in 23 innings. Cho improved to 5-3, 3.15 in 2008.

Cho had a big year in 2009, going 14-9 with a 4.05 ERA and 175 strikeouts in 182 2/3 IP. He tied Aquilino Lopez and Seung-hwan Yoon for the KBO lead in wins, was second to Hyun-jin Ryu in strikeouts and 9th in ERA.
