Biographical Information[edit]
Primarily a catcher, Jenny Romatowski played nine seasons in the All-American Girls Professional Baseball League. After starting with the South Bend Blue Sox in 1946, she appeared in 80 games for the Rockford Peaches in 1947. She split 1948 between the Chicago Colleens and the Racine Belles and played briefly for the Peoria Redwings in 1949. Following another stint with South Bend in 1950, she played the next four years with the Kalamazoo Lassies. In 1954, the league's final year, she posted a career-high .258 average while hitting a career-best 6 home runs.
Following her baseball days, Romatowski graduated from Eastern Michigan University and was a longtime physical education teacher. She also was a successful field hockey player and served as Vice President of the United States Field Hockey Association for a time.
