The brother of Mel Stottlemyre, and uncle of Mel Stottlemyre Jr. and Todd Stottlemyre, Jeff Stottlemyre pitched in the Seattle Mariners chain from 1980 to 1983.

Stottlemyre was drafted four times out of Yakima Valley Community College finally signing with the Mariners as their 2nd round pick in the 1979 amateur draft. He debuted with the Bellingham Mariners in 1980, going 9-3 in 12 starts with a 3.24 ERA. He was 3-6 4.64 ERA in 12 games for the San Jose Missions.

In 1981, Stotlemyre was 2-1 1.54 ERA in 6 games for the Wausau Timbers. In 1982, he was 10-5 5.72 ERA for the Lynn Sailors in 32 games, but only 8 starts. In 1983, Stottlemyre was 7-6 6.08 ERA for the Chattanooga Lookouts, with 5 saves and only 6 starts in 46 appearances.
