Biographical Information[edit]

Jeff Mandel had an up and down college career. He had a 1.91 ERA as a sophomore, but went undrafted after a poor junior season. He was 7-8 with a 4.55 ERA as a starter during his senior campaign.

Mandel was drafted by the Washington Nationals in the 19th round of the 2007 amateur draft. He was signed by scout Bob Laurie and made his pro debut that summer. His minor league career lasted until 2013, peaking at AAA.
