Biographical Information[edit]

First baseman Jeff Flagg played in the New York Mets system from 2008 to 2010 and in independent ball from 2011 to 2012. He was taken by the Mets in the 27th round of the 2008 amateur draft, a few picks after future stars Anthony Rendon and Sonny Gray and a few ahead of pitcher Ryan Cook. He was signed by scout Benny Latino.

He had decent pop, hitting 10 home runs with 62 RBI and slugging .478 in 64 games between the Kingsport Mets and Savannah Sand Gnats in 2009. In 2010, he added another 10 home runs, with 7 triples and 19 doubles, in 100 games between Savannah and the Brooklyn Cyclones. With the Frontier League's Traverse City Beach Bums in 2011 and 2012, he hit 13 and 20 home runs, respectively. He has RBI the latter campaign and was a league All-Star.

Overall, Flagg hit .247/.317/.444 with 58 home runs, 259 RBI and 443 strikeouts in 364 games over 5 seasons. He peaked at Single-A.
